and has been a part of the Imperial Spanish viceroyalty
of New Spain. New Mexico has the highest percentage of
Hispanic Americans which includes both immigrants and
descendants of Spanish colonists. Most of the tribes
that are in the state include Navajo and Pueblo peoples.
With all of the different cultures it makes New Mexico a
unique place for culture and the Spanish, Mexican, and
American Indian cultural influences.
