Carolina contains 100 counties and it's capitol is
Raleigh. Was one of the original thirteen colonies.
North Carolina was the home of the Roanoke Island
colony, which was the first attempt by the English
to establish a presence in the Americas. North
Carolina was the last of the confederate states to
succeed from the Union. The Wright Brothers first
successful flight was held in North Carolina. North
Carolina also has the largest population of American
Indians of any state around the Mississippi.
